SUN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
TRAINING SITES
Sun is creating 10 workforce development training centers access South Carolina, with the goal of offering future training sites across the country. With multiple committed centers, we are working towards our towards our goals. Each center will focus on the unique heritage offered by the community. Every site doubles as a resiliency hub providing services during disasters.
SUN works with our community partners, local governments and work boards to offer the communities they serve, Clean Energy trainings and apprenticeship opportunities. Courses address: Workforce readiness, OSHA Safety certification, Energy Auditing & Weatherization, Solar, Storage and EV installation. The goal is for students to have a useful credential for future safe employment. At the conclusion of the program, SUN and our partners provide help with job placement and career guidance.
SUN TRAINING GEORGETOWN SC JUNE 2024
Our training in Georgetown SC graduated 14 students. Thank you to The Gullah Geechee Chamber Foundation, 7 Dimensions Outreach & The Village Group for the work they have done to pull their community together behind this project. By bringing the students into the trainings, our partners offer members of their communities a pathway to good paying renewable energy jobs.

Our training in Aiken SC was in conjunction with The Imani Group, Umoja Village and Second Baptist Church of Aiken. Thank you for all the work done to bring this training to success. By bringing the students into the trainings, our partners offer members of their communities a pathway to good paying renewable energy jobs.
